Old Crain Highway Road Work

The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) will be installing sidewalks and making other improvements along the County-owned Old Crain Highway between Church Street and School Lane.  Residents can expect construction crews to be along the roadway off and on over the next few weeks. This project is being coordinated with the Town to make a safe pedestrian connection from the Downtown area to the Upper Marlboro Town Hall, Community Playground, Athletic Fields, and Board of Education.Water Street Rd Work Alert (1)

Timeline: Construction will begin on Thursday, July 13th, 2023, and is expected to take 3-4 weeks. 

Improvements Being Made: 
  • 5-ft sidewalks on the south side of Old Crain Highway between Church Street and School Lane.
  • Crosswalk at the Old Crain Hwy & School Ln intersection
  • Drainage & storm drain upgrades
  • Replacing wooden guardrails with metal ones
  • Curb & gutter installation on the north side of Old Crain Highway between Church Street and School Lane
  • Resurfacing of Old Crain Highway between Main Street and past School Lane after work is completed.
