Live Christmas Tree Recycling

As the 2019 Holiday Season comes to a close, residents who have live Christmas trees in their homes need to begin the process to remove them. Dried-out trees are a fire danger and should not be left in the home, garage, or placed outside against the home.a0f0709eac71808e691054e663ec849b

The Town of Upper Marlboro Public Works collects Christmas Trees as apart of its weekly Yard Waste Collection which happens every Monday morning.

Town Public Works crews bring the trees & yard waste to the PGC Department of the Environment Organics Composting Facility located just outside the Town limits. Here the trees and yard waste are ground-up, placed outside to dry, and then processed into compost known as Leafgro©, which is then sold to wholesalers.
