Town's First Female Police Officer Sworn In

Town Swears in New Police Officer

On Tuesday, October 22nd, Mayor Wanda Leonard swore in the Town's newest police officer, and first-ever female Upper Marlboro Police Officer, Corporal Katherine de Barros.

Cpl. de Barros starting her law enforcement career with the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, and then joined the Prince George’s County Police Department, where she received several commendations for her accomplishments as a patrol officer. She was ultimately promoted to the rank of Corporal with the County Police.
