The Town of Upper Marlboro, Maryland is the County Seat of Prince George's County, located just to the east of Washington D.C., near the crossroads of Rt. 301 and Pennsylvania Ave (Rt. 4). The incorporated Town is less than one mile across and half a mile wide, over four-percent (0.04 square miles) of which is water. Once a port town, Upper Marlboro is on the West Branch of the Patuxent River.
Upper Marlboro has a downtown area along Main Street, where the Courthouse and County Administration Building are located. The main residential area is the to the west of the downtown on several streets, housing approx. 650 people.

The Town has 24-hour, 7-day police coverage, but you must call 911 for an officer to respond. For non-emergency calls or administrative questions, please contact the Chief of Police at Town Hall Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you have a non-emergency between 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM, please contact the Prince George's County Police non-emergency line at 301-390-2100.
You can make payments for parking citations, parking permits or personal property taxes, or receive other Town services (such as a notary public, minutes, copying or faxing) between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
