Last day to register to vote in the January 7, 2008 Town election is Saturday, December 8, 2007.


Please attend the first public hearing on the Update of the Master Plan for the Town of Upper Marlboro on Thursday, October 4 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, 14815 Pratt Street Read the introduction letter on the meeting's goals and fill out a survey form to bring to the public hearing. Please call your neighbors and invite them -- we hope to see as many people as possible there!


The second annual sidewalk arts and music festival Park Your Arts will be held on Sunday, September 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Upper Marlboro Library on Main Street. The event, sponsored by Friends of the Upper Marlboro Library, will feature live music, storytelling, children's activities and a used book sale. The book sale will help raise funds for the library -- bring your used books to the Town Hall and we?ll pass them along. Visit www.parkyourarts.com for more info. Rain date is September 16.


On Sunday, August 26, the second annual Cruzin' Main Street Car and Street Rod Show will be held on Main Street from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Vehicle registration begins at 1:00 p.m. at Ledo's Restaurant. This year's event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Oldies music will be provided by DJ Brother Paul. Join us for a great afternoon of food, fun, awards and balloons for the kids! The Public Works Department has untreated mulch available for Town residents at no charge. Interested residents can load and haul their own from the old Public Works facility located off Judge's Drive by appointment only.
